a few nights ago at the track i was hooking up my lock up switch. insted of putting the wire into the upper left hole in the adl port i put it in the lower left one. maybe i got upper and lower upside down, i cant' remember off the top of my head. either way it was wrong.

at the line i turned the switch on and the car tryed to die on me. with out putting much thought into it i figured somehow the converter was trying to lock on me at the line, so i decided to lock it up after i shifted into 2nd. i did that and ran the whole track like that. it really ran bad, i think i was 1/2 a sec slow. on my next pass i realized that i goofed and put the wire in the right hole. then i ran a lot slower; high 15's :(. on top of that the car feels like crap, its like driving a honda, just very little power.

did i screw something up, or was that just a coincidence and something else happend?

what is that plug i grounded.

i also tryed to drain the tank (get rid of the 91 and put 110 in) but accidently hooked up the tack lead insted of the fuel pump. i dont' see that hurting much, unless i fryed something. not a good night.

The port under the TAN/BLK wire should be empty, so grounding it shouldn't have done anything. If you mistakenly got the second one in from the left (GRY), that's the EGR, which would explain why you near-stalled and lost some time. That prolly didn't do any long-term damage, but then I don't know what's on the ECM side of it...

plus, you cannot lock the converter until 2nd gear is engaged

i ment to say i put it in the first used plug on the left. i think there is one or 2 open ones before that.

I know there is no fluid flow to the lock up thing in 1st, i just didn't really think that far into it at the line getting ready to run.

glad to hear it was the egr valve.
