Can i get one at the local parts store or are they all junk ? Anyone have a known good one they wish to sell ?

Buy a new DELCO. Yes, parts store brands are iffy at best. The Delco costs more, but should last for years and years unless you have an electrical problem that can short them. Many TRs are still running original 1987 units.

I know John's Performance sells the DELCOs.

Heres a llittle unknown fact most auto parts stores can get OE parts @ a lower cost. Ignition AC DELCO module @ my dealership was 215 I went thru my auto parts store they got the same one for 150.It might have even been cheaper then that. When you go to aut parts stroes an ask for OE NOS NEW PARTS where do you thuink they get it..

Rock Auto seems to have Delcos for $175 plus shipping and perhaps a new gasket if needed.

Youre welcome

I have been running a auto parks module for a few years now. with no problems. My orignal ac delco one is on ebay now.

Another reason to by Delco

I recently bought a new coilpak, module, and gasket from my buddys at the Chevy/Buick dealer, and when I had a popping issue on my car I thought it might be the coilpak or module, so I stopped by the dealer and they told me that the parts are warrantied for a year.

Check the fine print.

carparts.com has them for $161.

HTH

$161 plus $18.99 for shipping and handling. $180 total

$174, free shipping and an additional turbobuick.com 5% discount $165 total. Plus, we're way nicer and better looking too. Ok, maybe just nicer.

I'm all for saving a buck, but see no sense in getting BS'ed with fine print and ending up paying far more....

Man, you have a way with words........Wish I could be that nice..... :D

I do get cranked up...

While I try to keep a positive outlook, some of the vendors out there really treat their customers like idiots. As a car guy who understands the value of a dollar (and the high cost of our hobby) this burns me up.

I checked two other well known vendors, and while both technically sell the module for a little "less" than we do, one charges $18.99 shipping and another a mind-boggliing $33.99 shipping. For a six ounce Ground package????

It's a free country, and folks can charge what they want - but I think this is borderline fraud. Consumers deserve better treatment than to get suckered with low prices and then hammered with shipping charges that are 5-10 TIMES higher than actual cost.

I understand that as a competing vendor I'm terribly biased here - but why do folks spend money with companies like GM Parts Dir***t that persist in dishonest and disrespectful business practices??
