My dome light is on when I open the door....my headlights come on just fine and make the dinging noise to let me know that they are. I put the key in the ignition and....nothing. No idiot lights temporarily coming on, no first light in the LED RPM/PSI displays, nothing.....car doesn't give any indication that I'm trying to start it whatsoever. Starter is hooked up correctly for sure. ECM was checked a couple of times to be certain. Brand new battery. It is an issue (I believe) with the ignition not reacting to the turn of the key.........normally, when you turn the key into the first position (not yet cranking) idiot lights come on, power windows work and fuel pump starts going--NONE of this is happening. If there is a way to hot-wire these friggin' cars, I would really like to know how seeing as how I need to move this car pronto.

Start with a known good battery. Even new batteries sometimes have problems, right off of the pallet.

If that doesn't work, you may have blown one of the fusable links that connect to the starter. I don't have a wire diagram in front of me to check what each is connected to, but if you blew one of the three links, that could explain the condition.
