Is there anything special that needs to be done with this install?
The kit provides an "S" hose but what is needed is a straight piece, am I missing something?
I see they also provide two wire connectors to splice the red/black wires to the new pump connector. Instead of doing this I would rather just crimp on new wire connectors to the new wiring harness.
Where can I buy new crimp on connectors, two different sizes are needed. Are these a local Napa purchase or specialty electrical shop.
Anything else that is needed for this install would be appreciated. Thanks folks.

You might want to try casperselectronics.com or call them if you don't see it on their web page.

Replace the s hose with a straight hose of proper length. I bought a plug in harnass that worked from Anderson Performance 410 282-9335

Every Walbro pump I've bought had a plug-n-play electrical connector...whom did you purchase the pump from?

I bought the pump kit from RACETRONIX last year. It did come with a new wire connector on the pump end but you must reuse the existing wire terminals that go on the hanger.

Turbofrank, what did the new harness consist of? A short length of two wires with connectors on each end? How much was it? Do they sell just the proper terminal ends that go on the hanger terminals?

Thanks

If you have a sending unit that has the push-on style terminals you must crimp these terminals onto the end of the pump's wiring harness.

All kits shipped come with two extra nylon butt connectors and two 3M nylon push-on red crimp connectors for this purpose.

Only the later sending units have Delphi connectors that are compatible with the PnP adapter included in the Walbro 400-835 installation kit.

Yes short hose with two connectors that plug into pump and proper hanger end. I think i paid about $10-15.

Jack, what do I need to do? I have not gotten an email back from ya since Thurs. last week after replying with all my information.

In case you are still following this, please let me know. Thanks

Paul,

After reviewing your PayPal payment dated Jan 01/02 for $62.98 I have found that you did not purchase a pump from Racetronix but rather a 'hotwire harness'. This would explain why you have an unmarked GSS340 pump instead of a Racetronix marked GSS340M pump and a 400-812 Mustang install kit vs. the 400-835 install kit for the Buick.

The GSS340 pump can be used with the filter sock you have now. The items you require to get your pump to work are:
- GM wiring adapter
- Rubber mounting bumper (grommet)
- Rubber hose
- O-ring tank seal

Since you did purchase the hotwire harness from Racetronix I am willing to send you these items no charge if you are willing to cover the shipping. I will contact you directly on Monday via email with the specifics of this transaction.
