I have been thinking about insulating my intercooler pipes that run to and from my front mount. I was thinking the heated air that the cooling fans from the radiator discharge directly on them would heat up the already cooled air coming from the front mount to the throttle body. Has anyone ever done this or done any testing to see if this would hurt or help. I am just trying to get all the cool intake air I can. Any thoughts guys??

I would think that you would only insulate the outlet of the IC. The I/C is the coolest part of the system so keeping it cool is essential. The inlet to the I/C is the hottest (well, under boost it is anyways). I would think that you would want the inle to the I/C open to ambient to have the heat radiate into the engine compartment. That is assuming that the outlet of the turbo is hotter than the engine compartment air.
Good luck, ERIC.
