I haven't installed all of this yet, but will be in the next week or so; So far I have a TE44. TT chip, 42lb injectors, adjustable FPR, DW fuel pump, hotwire kit, boost gauge, Wideband O2, scanmaster, powerlogger, all the kirban frame braces, and a hellwig swaybar. There's probably more, I'm probably just forgetting some stuff.

Car is basically stock now. I'm not worried about keeping it stock to help resale either, I'm 22 now, and I'm keeping this car forever. I want to enjoy this car as much as I can, not save it for someone else.

I'm thinking once I get it all installed and tuned, will I really see much of a performance gain? I'm kind of new to the whole car thing, this 87 GN is only the second car I've bought. Or, to get a nice gain, will I need to add alky? This is pretty much a street car, with maybe the occasional weekend run at the track.

yes, you will see a nice performance gain! :) if you add alky you will see an unbelieveable performance gain.
this assumes you have it all hooked up right and a good tune.

I'm ordering it right now. Was going to get a personalized license plate, but the $255 it would have cost can be better spent. AKA, put towards going fast...

I was gonna get a personalized plate, but I thought I'd make it a little harder for people to call the cops on me:rolleyes:

your in the same boat as me, but all my stuff is installed though. I'm 24 and dont know that much about cars. I will probaly end up keeping this car for life cause with the miles on mine no ones buying it. How much you pick your up for

Mine was 14000, in Canada it seems the cars go for a little more. Has 56000 miles on it, was all stock, with only one little rust spot (lower rear fender) on the whole car. Unfortunately found out the front trans pump was bad (the hard way) a week after getting it. Wrecked the whole trans. burned all the friction plates, melted the washers in it, it was a mess.

Well I paid 12k for mine way overpaid. I was so excited I didn't even talk the guy down....big learning experience for me.

I didn't talk the guy down in my sale either, this car stuff is kind of hard when you're just starting out. You don't want to lowball them, but you don't want to offer them more than what you might be able to get it for. Someday, I'm sure it'll come easy.

right on man. noob to GN's here as well, though I've had mines since 06'. recently bought a laundry list of parts and alky will prolly come as soon as i get bored. i intend on keeping mines for always as well.

Bought it with 18k has 27k now. I shall drive it. Period.

True.... well like everyone says use the search function as much as possible and if that don't work follow my posts I ask all the dumb questions so you don't have to

This the Alky Control Web site http://www.alkycontrol.com/ and it tell all about Julio's Alky system and our car. I know reading somewhere on the board I also read beside Julio's site of tuning 101, you might need to replace the nylon camshaft gear if you haven't done so already. Nor sure ask questions on his site and of course this board with many members having this Alky system.

congrats, take it one step at a time and enjoy the car.boost makes power don't go overboard while your learning.

With what you have listed, you'll notice a pretty significant increase in performance. Just make sure to stay fairly conservative on the boost! No more than 15# of boost since you're running a stock Intercooler, and also assuming you have good 93 octane gas.
Once you get an alky kit installed you'll be able to sneak up on the boost and will likely end up just over 20# safely, IF you've kept up with the tune.

I bought my 86 regal T (45K) for $7500 with completely destroyed paint. the guys wanted much more but the paint job would have been 6-8k minimum if I wasn't a painter and could do all the work myself. I stripped the car to nuts and bolts (replaced every bolt with new) and stripped the whole thing. I have well over 140 man hours into it and it was worth ever hour I did. I've since added at least 12K worth of go fast, trans mic interior parts into it. It's such a fun car when it's running right. Other than the stock block, pretty much everything has been changed to brand new.

Out of all the performance parts I added, Alky and the trans were the 2 biggest differences. Alky was an insane upgrade on it's own. all the muscle car guys at my work laugh at me and say I need a real engine cause I'm going to blow it up. They laugh until I completely destroy them in races that is ;)
