hi I have an 86 gn and it runs really rough and it dies al the time. it feels like its being choked for fuel.
it did sit for 6 years but it has been up and running since then.

scanmaster codes are 44, 31, 32
and I have a real bed exhaust leak from the drivers side header gasket

this video it at idle
everything is stock as far as fuel system (no hotwire or anything yet)
I dont have a fuel pressure gauge to check the pressure
any input woud be greatly appreciated

Get some diagnostic tools, fix the exh leak, replace the pump, add a hot wire, and then see what is going on.
Post the scan data, and perhaps someone will spot issues you can fix....
A "spring cleaning" is in order, too. www.vortexbuicks.com.

What Chuck said!! Get that header leak fixed, it's causing most of your problems!!

Number 2. Get rid of that redneck fuel filter hanging under the engine. It's designed for carburated applications, and eventually wont be able to handle the pressures of a fuel injected system. You don't want to see what happens when that thing fails under that hot engine and sprays fuel all over the exhaust system!!!

thanks everyone. I will compete all the repairs listed above and take it from there. I did notice that the prior owner put a new egr in.
I just want to get it running good. can I use any fuel pump (ike from autozone)? of does it have to be a walbro like I have in my other car?
I just ordered the hotwire.

Don't use a parts store fuel pump. Fuel is the most important system on these cars.

since the EGR has been "worked on" its likely there are vacuum leaks or perhaps the EGR is leaking or being pulled open at idle.

run a walbro pump, the stock pump is barely adequate for a stock car so an upgrade is a step in the right direction.

AC r44TS plugs for modest power levels.

the 340 pumps are more than you will need, and can sometimes have issues at idle with the fuel pressure being too high. The regular Walbro 255 l/hr is the right move.

is there any special kit I should buy ? offset? I wanted a walbeo but the guy at s&k speed out here said I need the other one. I just want one that drops right into my tank with out any fabrication.

check with the vendors that support this board, most of them should be able to help you.

I'll echo what Bob is saying.... You will be able to find the right parts to fit your car by knowledgeable people when you deal with the vendors on here. You get it from Jegs, XYZ speed shop..... they don't support this board... and these cars..... the vendors that pay money to advertise here is what keeps this board running....... without this... you wouldn't have tons of people helping you troubleshoot your car.... for free.

Buy what you can from the supporting vendors on here. Your business goes further than you think.
