Is this a 87 GN transmission?

Hey guys i found this transmission for sale locally and the owner says it was taken from a 87 buick GN. He says that it was working fine when removed and he only wants $125 for it. So i figured id probably pick it up heres the pics

That is a TH350 that someone had placed into a GN. Grand Nationals had the 2004R overdrive trans. That trans there is maybe worth $40 as a core around here. Pass on it.

Easyest way to tell is look at the tag on the caseing. It should have the BRF code if it's out of a 87 TR. Hope this helps.....

what's the numbers on the tag? does the pan look like the state of IL? if it does look like IL it most likely is a 200r4 trans. the only way to tell is the numbers.

GNeric is correct That trans is a BOP TH350. Don't need to look at any numbers

Bolt on tail housing, modulator, kickdown cable, "square" pan, case where low one way/piston is mounted inside.
