is it normal to have to start spraying alcohal (with the smc kit) on my setup after about 14psi?? with the te62 turbo, v2 front mount,160 thermostat?

With a V2 you should be able to get a lot more than 14psi out of it without knock... depending on gas.

No, not normal (unless you're running 87 octane or something).

My turn on point is a bit lower (12) but the time it takes to work allows the boost to get to 16 or so with my 20* timing chip.

Kinda difficult question to answer.

But with 94 gas you shouldn't get KR until 17 pounds of boost or so unless you are using a high timing chip which many do.

TA62 turbo.

You might want to try lowering the turn on point of the SMC spray. Is your pump speed on 10? your pump speed might be too low, your octane might be too low... too much timing etc. What kind of timing are u running?

Are you going from a dead stop? U might want to try tuning from a 40-50 mph roll, I had easier tuning results that way.

The best way I had results was to run the max boost with out the SMC kit, then run a few more lbs of boost and keep increasing pump speed till It was maxed out at 10 and I had no knock.

I get about 25 psi on a 44 turbo with turn on point at 10 psi and the pump speed on full. I am also running a 20 deg chip and 94 octane.

Good luck,

Murt

well with the scanmaster i start to see knock at about 13-15 roughly!!! i have the pte joe lubrant chip, and i run 93 octane pump gas, the turn on point is almost to the lowest point??? any more answers???

YOU TURN IT ON AT A POINT WHERE YOU DON'T SEE KNOCK. THIS IS ONLY FROM A DEAD STOP TO WOT. IF YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT GOING TO WOT FROM SPEED, THIS IS ANOTHER ISSUE. YOU'LL KNOCK BEFORE THE ALKY HITS THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER.
