Nope, of course it's not my GN...its the hubby's Camaro. Looks pretty good. Says he has the tranny right this time around. Of course, the shat talking has commenced and the boys are SWEARING that his will be faster than mine...ahhhh...the wait continues. I've decided, that when mine turns out fast (I have faith in you, Lee) that I'm getting a shirt made that says "YEP, mine's FASTER!!!"...lol :biggrin:

Nice car. A 350 powered 3rd gen does have some potential to break the high 12's....provided it has the right parts combo (I know you said it had some mismatched parts) and can hook and the 7.5 rear doesn't shatter to pieces.

And when I say "has the potential" I don't mean on a bottle either.

But a GN can still take it.

There's probably not a car rolling that motor has not been transplanted into, and there generally up for sale within the first week. I had an '86 vette and it was a real dog until I had Guldstrand & Jim Jones at Traco Engineering transplant a real Traco bowtie into it.

Summit Racing...all Summit Racing. I swear...he would watch the HorsePower TV shows on Sunday morning...they would tell him what makes it go faster, and he would order it Monday. He's got an MSD ignition box on the darn thing...my dad swears the car doesn't pull enough horsepower to even bother using it...but whatever. He's weird...paid a bunch of money to make it loud...and it is...but now wants to get some sort of cone thing that makes it quiet??? Says he can't hear the radio. Ah, the story of my life!

LOL yeah the MSD boxes are over rated. They're great if you are running a nitrous set up and need it to automatically retard the ignition at the push of a button, or if you just want it for the built in rev limiter, otherwise a good old HEI does the trick. I see a lot of those nice shiny red boxes in lots of engine bays at car shows...must magically add power. LOL Horsepower TV does do some good build ups but asking those in the know is the best way. Hubby just needs to get a turn key crate engine and call it a day.
