J&S Safeguard & wiring with Distributor

Anybody here still using a J&S Safeguard with a distributor?

I picked up a unit on fleabay with no wiring at all. Sent email to John Pizzuto about getting a harness and he is asking me for a wiring diagram for the "stock ignition system". I'm still stock at the moment, but can't find any decent diagram that he might want.

Suggestions from someone that has already gotten it to work?

He said mine was an older unit that he made between 98-2000. Still has to be better than the stock setup.

It's an 83. ECM / ESC & HEI distributor

I've got an 82 shop manual. I think they are the same. I'm at the lake for the weekend but I will take a picture of the schematic for you Monday and post it

For what it's worth, the turbo and non-turbo 3.8 used the same distributor & wiring in 1983. The timing was handled by the ECM.

When I saw it on ebay at the $60 "Buy it now" price, I didn't see how I could go too wrong. Now I am just hoping that it actually works....

Even if it doesn't, I've wasted $$$ in worse ways (e.g. I bought a boat)

Any change of getting a pic of the wiring diagram? I'm still not exactly sure what it is that he needs, but I am going to assume it is the distributor / module / knock sensor stuff. Email would work too. 83ttype (at) gmail

Hey sorry I couldn't get the forum to respond on my phone the last couple days.

At esc controller
457 yellow and blk goes to pin L on small ecm plug
454 blk wht goes to ground
496 blk do goes to knock sensor
439f pnk blk goes to pin c on small ecm plug

Distr
Pin a 423 wht goes to pin 12 on big ecm
Pin b 430 ppl wht goes to pin 10 on big ecm
Pin c 424 tan blk goes to pin 11 on big ecm
Pin d blk red goes to pin 13 on big ecm
