Just looking at the pic of the John's Performance Drain Tube, it looks like one end (the one that threads into the block) has to make a pretty sharp turn - is that an issue?

Anyone here running his piece and had any problems? I'm going to order it unless there's a reliability problem.

Raven I have that same exact drain hose from John and there is no major bending involved...it's kind of a pain to install the hose if the turbo is already bolted on though...you have to really get your hands inside there and put those two 8mm bolts in if the turbo is already there...but it's a great piece and make sure you use the correct gasket and not the crappy thin paper one otherwise it leaks!!! ask me how i know!

First off, this piece is FAB! There are no kinks or sharp bends in the hose whatsoever because you rotate the end that attaches to the turbo to align with the 'bolt holes' in the turbo...of course there is almost nobody out there still running bolts into the turbo as we've gone to studs there which make this part of a turbo swap/install one of the easiest parts, from one of the hardest by switching to studs:cool:

Ok, I'm sold. Where do I cop the studs you're talking about? What size?

[2] 8mm X 35mm X 1.25pitch thread studs. [2] 8mm nuts [13mm drive head] and flats. A touch of blue loctite on the threads[turbo side] and double-nut 'em in, then remove the nuts one at a time. Stick a gasket on, throw the drainpipe over the studs and zip on the flats and nuts. Done, done right and done quick.

Thanks Jim. I'm all over it.

I've already ordered the tube and I'll pick up the studs/fasteners tomorrow.

Thanks for the insights!
