i just installed my kirban's driveshaft loop tonight. as far as i can see it can only go on one way. i noticed after i installed it, there was only about 1/4 inch clearance between the top of the driveshaft and the top of the loop.by looking at it, i knew it would probably hit. i took the car out when done and sure enough, the shaft hits the loop when accelerating hard, and just normal driving when i go over bumps. needless to say i babied it til i got home. all of my engine and trans mounts are new, and i have a tie down strap installed, so i know it's not from the drivetrain moving too much. any ideas???

Just got my Kirban Drive shaftloop today. I would also like to hear from anyone who has installed one before I put mine on. Any tricks to the install?

No problems on mine but I bought it around 5 years ago. Maybe a batch were made up wrong?

Mine didn't fit until I put new body bushings in the car. Works perfect now.

I bought mine from Poston's about 1.5 yrs ago. In the 4 (yes, FOUR) mi. I have put on my car in that time, IT HITS.

I am totally un satisfied with the fit of this piece. I am going to buy a Metco loop this spring before I put anymore miles on the car.

nocooler, how much clearance do you have with the new body bushings installed? did you replace them all, or just some? i was thinking they could be a part of the problem.

That is why i went with the Metco DS loop.I had that Dutweiller/Postons/Kirbans pos. The Metco is the best. It just will not hit. Its huge and will allow the widest of driveshafts.

and i was just about to buy one of those... guess i'll go with a weld in one or a summit universal one.
