im haveing a small problem with knock on 93 pump gas and 15 lb of boost, i used to only get less then 3 degrees on top end but now im getting around 8-9 sometimes up to 15 degrees:eek: and i dont know how to reduce it with out giveing up boost or going with race gas.

im running 40 psi fuel pressure now idleing if i jumped it up to 45 would that help reduce knock or am i going to have to go with a diffrent chip also? ive got some el cheapo chip the last owner put in so i thank ill upgraid to a thrasher or postons chip, ive herd that thrashers are real good but what do you all think about the postons chip?

Why not post the complete combo. first such as injectors and all?

Could be something simple such as fuel filter.

Could be the fuel or the weather (colder air).

I'd try 43-44 psi. hose off for sure as a quick test.

I'd also try some 100 unleaded or xylene as a test to make sure it isn't false KR.

Finally I'd go with a name brand modern chip as well. 93 version from Ramchargers works well. :)

What type of scan tool are you using that is showing the 8-9 knock degrees? Have you changed anything, since the time you used to get 3* vs. now?

im not to sure of the combo im still peaceing every thing togeaher, what i do know is dual fuel pumps, adjustable wastegate, rcj power plate, adjustable fuel pressure rgulator, new valve springs, test pipe, dump, scanmaster, pinion snubber, the fuel pumps are hot wired, some kind of odd ball chip so i know thats got to go, scanmaster, and some other crap i know im leaven out but im to tired to put my finger on them.

as for changing somethen, no, after i take a bath im going to go down to the rice shop and pick me up a torque strap and see if that helps, ill check the gap on the plugs while im at it.

i know i most likely need to jump my fuel pressure up, its running 40 lb ideling, ive herd people say go 44 static but what does static mean?how do i set it to where it should be?

You need to use a (known good/reliable) fuel pressure gauge, attached to the service prot at the end of the fuel rail-By the FP Reg. take the vacuum line off the top of the FPR, loosen the lock nut on the FPR, turn the post inside the lock nut (probably w/ an allen wrench). watch the fuel pressure gauge until it get to 42 psi at idle with the vacuum line OFF. Once there, hold the allen wrench and snug the lock nut around it to keep the pressure from changing. Once done, check the FP gauge again to make sure the pressure is where you set it. Don't forget to put the vacuum line back on the FPR when you're done.
Now go test and tune, you may need a little more FP, depending on the boost you are trying to run.
Good luck.
