Wow, car looks nice... but I think he'll have a hard time getting 10k for a non running car. Did I mention I really like the looks of that car?

James

Bummer. That is definately one sharp looking ride. that is one car I'd love to rescue if I could afford it. Looks to be very well done and in good taste.

Some Really Descriptive Lines!

Vehicle Description

I have many years and much time and its spent alot of time in the shop to make it run right...only it never has since the day I started on it.

I cant even begin to count the money I have in the car so I wont,

I want to get rid of this car ....it sits in my driveway and the sight of it makes me sick.

The most recent go around, the engine block is cracked between the two last cylinders on the drivers side.

Before that it was every other probelm, from not running right to poor idling to popping...not boosting...etc...I dont have time for th

It has 819 miles since a total renovation about 2-3 years ago..every one of those 819 miles the car ran like S*?!T.

************************************************
I stress you should see the car in person meet the jackass that put this much money into a car that never ran right.
************************************************

There is so much more I cant think of and I really dont want to think of....

If youre bidding on the car you know more about these cars than I do....and if you dont...you shouldnt be bidding on it...

its been sitting outside for about 5 months now...I wont even wash it...

I also have a trailer Ill sell you for another $1200 that I paid $1800 for so you can tow it home.

( If you buy this car trust me you will need a trailer)...
==========================================

May well be the world's most honest guy selling a car! eek:

Now that's a totally new marketing approach to selling a car!:D Looks like a nice car to me but as far as getting 10k for it, I don't know. Would have been nice to see a motor shot in the auction. Looks like he has some of our dash and console dressup pieces on it.

i live near that guy, so if anyone wants me to look at that car, its a pretty quick drive...

-Neil

Florida car or location but did you notice it has NJ plate?
Engine 40 over with WELDED gridle. Never heard of welding one on. Oh well...

Gary

Neil,

Do you know this guy. Kinda sucks that the engine went South. I Like he is being so honest. I also wonder if he is a member here. Gee i know we all would have helped him out. Goes to show you how if you do not know these cars how you can just go upside down really quick $$$. Mark allot of people have your stuff. Your-stuff rocks!!!;)

no, i dont, i just said if any one wants to bid on the car i can go look at it and give them my opinion, because its not that far out of my way. it looks nice in the pictures..

That car would be SOOOOOO COOOOOOLLLLL. It looks really great(except for the wheels and steering wheel). Lot's of potential in the right hands, but WAY TOO much money for a non runner
I'd buy it in a flash if the price were right. Unfortunately, with all the stuff he's added, he has priced himself right out of the market.

Kinda like someone trying to sell their $300,000 dollor renovated home in a subdivision full of $100,000 homes.

"If you buy this car trust me you will need a trailer"

best line in the whole thing...

Sad to see it.... cant say I blame him....

IMHO i would have gotten the engine running right before welding in a cage etc....

WOW

that really sounds familiar

good thing i like my car more than he does.

right now i have a random bog -> backfire -> stall problem that i cant track down.

Got this response from the owner!

Im just trying to be honest in my description I dont want anyone to buy the car without realizing that it needs alot of attention. The car is originally from NJ, Im the second owner. I had Stage 1 Auto build the car since Ive had it. Rob over there is a nice guy, I just think an engine this modified and radical was a bit over his head and capability. I went to the message boards...Id sooner turn the car into a barbque for my backyard than sell it for what these people are suggesting. My reserve is considerably higher than $10,000. I have more than that into the interior. (The car needs to be seen to make an evaluation) The bill for the interior shop alone was $9500 which doesnt include the cage, guages, wheel etc etc... I would accept offers around $15000. The comments on the wheels are a matter of taste, but those wheels are real nice when polished. They arent the off-the-shelf cast wheels, these are real billett wheels, machined one-off for this car. Steering wheel as well is a matching Budnik Billet wheel. I definitely outpriced this car, no doubt...thats why Im taking such a loss, Ive just been tired of never once having this car run right and Ive really lost all interest in trying. I have two other toys Im modifying now that are dependable and much more fun because they run well (2001 lightning, pulleys, chip, Zex Nitrous, and a 2003 Mitsubishi Evo) not to mention the other cars I have. I just feel worn with this car and Im sure the right person will make this a magazine car, Ive been approached twice about putting it in a magazine. I will say one thing, Jack Cotton is a great guy and an asset to any car guys arsenal of friends. He probably wont remember me but I met him in Englishtown and he took alot of time to help me without realizing he sold me my front mount. Im not on that buick list but you can feel free to post my response if you like. I love these cars dont get me wrong, I had an 86 GN which you can see I sold on EBAY about 8 months ago with 1100 original miles. Im just tired of it not working right and being sold another thing that just doesnt work and complicates it more. The last go-around I brought the car to Dynamic Turbo in Miami to "dial it in" a $4500 bill later they give me the car back with the engine apart telling me the block is cracked....Im just tired of it...someone else who looks at this car with enthusiasm may have just a few weeks of work or days or hours, who knows....I just wont do it. Here are some more pictures of the car on a website. Thank You for your interest. John

Unfortunately, the value of a car is not what you have put into it, especially if you are counting the cost of labor, i.e. the custom interior. 10K is a lot for a car that doesn't run and also needs some paint/body work.

I had over $50K into a 66 pro street Chevelle and sold it for $25K so I know. But as they say, there is an a** for every seat.

The owner is right.

That car is worth it.

All you need to do is put a damn block in it and whammo..

that car has ALL the bells and whistles..

just from lookin at the pictures its got what appears to be an atr dual exhaust, with cutout, maybe a thdp i havent gotten that far yet, what a cage, a translator, an alky kit, a new gastank with new straps, hotchkis swaybar, new shocks, battery relocation kit, rear end girdle, etc, etc.. hes got it covered from thecold air kit, front mount, tb, plenum, intake, heads, headers, turbo, dp, cutout, to the exhaust. Hes got a sound system in it. GNX Dash with ultralites.. i just looked at the pictures and theres nothing else you can add to that car almost..

I hope someone on this board buys that car and makes it scream..

Why would put $9500 into an interior? I think he just too much money for his own good. It has potential if someone had a good running engine from a rust bucket or smackup to put in it.

Really nice looking car. It's a shame the owner is in over his head with the car. He seems honest in his description of the car. Sounds like a good deal for the right person. The only part I'm having a hard time believing is $9500 for an interior. :o :o Where did the $9500 go?? :o :o I don't see it.
