I'm looking for an upgrade from stock. I still run stock heads but want to push her into the ten's (with a bigger turbo). has anybody had any luck with the lunati cams?
Thanks
Scott

204/214 is a good choice
FrankG on the board sells them too at a really good price

Cam suggestion.

I can strongly recommend the hydraulic roller cam in my sig. It comes as a kit from Full Throttle. Not gonna kill u on the price, you wont have to put on an overly large turbo and as u can see the car is knocking on the door of a 10 second pass. maybe one more pound of boost and the trans straightened out and Im there.

What ever you get, go Roller

Once I get a bunch of stuff squared away, I'm going roller.

Im running this cam on my new engine and i like it a lot, idles like a stocker but when you mash the pedal it comes alive, you can find this identical cam from edelbrock with lifters and all 129.00 plus shipping this is where i got mine, the only thing i would recommend is to use GM lifters the ones that come with the cam are Johnson performance lifters not as good as the Original GM ones.

i got the 969's and when i took the motor apart after headgasket went i checked cam an lifters and there is absolutely no wear broke in perfect with rotella and eos supplement this is 600 miles later

I wouldnt even bother pulling that stock cam out till you break something.

If there isnt anything wrong with the one you got, dont f-with it.

Just my opinion, and as a matter of fact.. That 800.00 you spend toward a roller cam would be all the rear suspension parts you would need and then some to go low 10s. :)

Thanks for the help. the 204/214 sounds like a nice cam.

I was just thinking I was going to have the intake off, the valve springs off, I need replace the power steering pump so I'll have the intercooler pipes out. I need to replace the radiator so I'll have that out. So, I might as well stick a cam in for 150 bucks.

By the way i'm not going to break anything:biggrin:

Brer,

What is your 60' time? Your MPH is there for a 10 second pass. No need for more boost just a rock solid 60':D

OOPS! Sorry, missed your sig on the first glance through, but I had already made the post.

Yeah its hard to get that 10 sec slip.

The trans slipped at the shift points on that run. Might get it back this week in time for street car chaos at 41. although that track is horrible so I might just put it up for the winter.

Good Advice! Leave it along....

Not that it's going to happen but "IF" you should wipe a $150 flat tappet lobe due to a cam swap you'll be spending much more. It'd be different if you were doing a complete rebuild but why F... with it now.

I wondered if there was a hickup somewhere. I have seen high 10's with that MPH.

Keep up the good work and I wish you success in the 10's!
