Whats a good place to pick up an LS1 MAF and translator? I think my MAF is bad....so I figured Id just upgrade.

what exactly is the benefit to doing this, besides the fact that it is a larger diameter?

It's readily available brand new. :)

Lots of tunability with the box and chip as well.

Not trying to hijack the thread here, maybe GNAsuka can use some of this info too.
Chip? The ECM PROM? Or the chip inside the Translator? I have this same MAF in the shed, waiting for mine to go bad before putting it on. I wouldnt have to change my PROM to use it would I?
Thanks

I have the Translator +, just got it. There are settings on the T+ for "EXTREME" mode for use with the extender extreme chip. Supposed to make more power.
Can't say for the regular translator though.

It is truly plug and play. Just plug existing harness into translator and translator into new MAF. It's that simple. No need to change existing chip.

You do need the translator to use the newer style MAF, they speak different code than our ECM's.

Someone jump in and correct me if I am wrong.

BTW, I agree, FULL THROTTLE SPEED & STYLE is the place to get it.

I installed one behind the glove box using their extension harness and splicing into the ECM wiring. It keeps the box out of the engine compartment and makes for easy adjustments too.

Figured Id just resurrect this post for another question I have. Does anyone know how long the LS1 or Impalla SS MAFs are? Like in inches? Ive got a cold air kit right now, set up for the measurements of the old MAF, and I need to know how much extra space Im going to have with one of the new MAFs.

Just went to the garage and measured my LS1 MAF on my 2000 Camaro. It is 5" total length. Most of that are the ends which are covered by the connecting hoses. The part that remains exposed is 2". Hopefully that is clear. If I need to explain better, let me know.

5 inches huh? I was expecting it to be shorter, the stock MAF is just a little over 5 inches, tho it has alot more exposed. Thanks for measuring it.
