I believe the LS1 is around 3.5" vs. 3" for more flow. And, if buying new I think you can find the LS1's for cheaper.

for either sensor to work you need MAF translator so why even consider LT1 -3" sensor when you can use bigger 3.5" LS1 MAFfor extra flow ,I think our cars run the best on LS1 until you go realy big with intake piping /turbo / throttle body , I used LS6 ZO6 ( no screen ) plastic sensor with my Big Mouth 4" intake and I loved it even more .

fbody and vette lt1's have 3.5" mafs also. iron headed lt1's have 3".

I have a 3.5" LT1 sensor I had left over from a friends 95 z28, I have a 3"LT1 sensor on the car now until I buy the 3.5" maf pipe. Both sizes from LT1's. I don't know which is better- LT1 or LS1 but I know the LT1 sensor work good and they both read higher than stock.

Thanks, ordered a LS1 with adapters and translator, hopefully this will prove to be a reliable swap, I am sick of the remanned ones........:)
