MAF sensor

i just changed my maf sensor. i started the car up and then it stalled. then i installed the old maf sensor and i got the same result. so i un-plugged it and the car runs? but imeditley throws a code 34 (maf) then it stalls after about 1 min. so i unplugged the ecm plug to see if ecm would repeat itself and it does the same thing? im totally stumped please help me out?

Just start at the beginning....

I would start by verifying fuel pressure and spark. You can get some help here. Read the introduction and then on to troubleshooting. You're bound to get some ideas as you study Steve Woods website.

Maybe the new one is bad too, is it a stock mass air flow?

I agree with TurboJD. I have seen this happen to 3 MAFs in a row! Man get rid of the factory one if possible. Had all kinds of stalling and surging problems with the factory maf. Went to the LS1 and translator and it there was no more stalling and ran really smooth. I will be installing my MAFT Pro in 2 weeks, this should be even better.

the car ran fine with the old maf on it but it had a stumble when you mashed the throttle. people told me to change the maf? i do have fuel and spark.
