I recently discovered that my stock MAF tube that connects the throttle body to the MAF has split in a couple places in the ribbed section. Where can I get a new one besides the junkyard? I heard poston's has a solid tube but no provision for a crankcase breather, can you fabricate one of your own or does this not work well? Or is it possible/worth it to repair the cracks in the stock tube?

Good luck finding one in the junkyard lol. I seriously doubt you're going to find one at the dealership either. I'd buy the Poston one and make it work. I have 3 but I'm afraid to sell any of them becuase I would most likely never be able to get another.

Get the solid one. You dont want the hose to the valve cover breather anyway. All it does is crap up your TB, etc. with oil. Get a valve cover breather and get rid of the stocker.
Oh, and like cool said "Good luck finding one in the junkyard". If you dont already know you are sure to find out quickly: these cars are pretty rare ;)

good luck , finding another pipe
unless you find one used on this board, your not gunna have much luck finding one.

but if dont minding spending a lil cash
i can tell you right now what you can do.

first you dont need to worry about that crankcase breather/ oil filler tube.
that thing is just cheesy looking and junk.you can use an aftermarket style

first thing u could do is
go to https://www.kirbanperformance.com/

look up the chrome, oil filler tube / drive side breather
it says 86/ 87 but it works on a hot- air
i have one, it costs $32

that eliminates that crankcase tube that goes to the inlet tube.
its not gunna hurt your car at all, to not use that tube.

next thing is
for the inlet pipe
theres this awesome guy named Mark Huefmann, he makes Cold air induction kits for hot aired buicks

his website is
www.buickgn.com

you can buy the whole kit for you can buy half of it
you can just buy the tube that goes from the throttle body to the Maf,
check out his web page and look under Hot Air/ cold air kits
check out the pics he has
you will see what the idea is...

the aluminum pipe is $65
the chrome is $95

just an idea, a nice dress up part and and a problem solved for $100
get that pipe replaced cuz its throwing off your A/f ratio.

happy holidays

:) :)

Thanks for the plugs on my stuff, guys. Appreciate it! Aluminum pipes are in stock but the chrome pipes for the hot air MAF are on back order at this time. I am giving my supplier another couple of weeks to deliver and have another source for these if he doesn't come thru.

My MAF pipe does NOT come with a provision to hook up the vent tube from the valve cover. I recommend running a breather as was previously discussed.
