So I know Bruce passed on a few years ago. I was wondering whatever happened to his GN?

I would consider his to be of signifcant historic importance to the Turbo Buick community.

Actually I should probably start a new thread about other Turbo Buicks of significance, such as Jack Armstrong, Nick Micale, Cotton's, and the list goes on. Of course these guys are still with us and I believe all still have their cars. I find it interesting to see where Bruce's car is now and if the current owner kept it as he had it or returned it to stock. I wonder how many things on it would just straight confuse and baffle the average Buick nut.

Always kind of wondered about this too, or his hybrid Mustang SVO project too.

Great idea!...It would also be interesting to know whatever happened to Buddy Cox's GNX, Eric Rankin, as well as Fred Vetter's white T-Type (first picture on the left) and Jim D'Alessandro's white GN (Not the former Ron Cosner race car, but rather the one he had before that, seen in the second picture on the right...)

Claude.

Claude I saw Jimmy D. racing that car back when it was still black on my '89 GS Nats video last week.

RIP Bruce.

i was actually thinking about this car last week.
Not only did he do some interesting stuff but he could also explain it in English.
i spent hours reading his write-ups
RIP Mr.Plecan

Sgrim owns one of the Fred Vetter white T's. I think it is the one pictured, had the same rims, not all the stickers like his "shop car".

It was for sale in NJ a few years ago and I almost bought it, just decided not to pull the trigger without seeing it in person.

I almost forgot, but I think you're right about the car pictured to the left in my previous post (Fred Vetter's car) being the car "SGRIM" bought...As for the "shop car" with "all the stickers" you're referring to, it is more likely to be Eric Shertz's white T-Type (pictured below) who later on, bought "Dynotech" when Fred Vetter decided to retire. They were two different cars as both Fred and Eric had white cars and yes, it's easy to get confused between them...especially since both were white and sponsored by Dynotech...
After Eric passed away in May '08, :frown: his wife Liz with proof of ownership of the car in hand, and with some help from a few Buick friends and also the police ( ! ), went to Keith Mease's shop to get the T-Type back which had been sitting there for almost two years, with promises from Mease to get some work done which he never did. Liz was ultimately able to get the car but never got the motor back from Mease.) Then the car was brought to Jack Cotton's shop in hope Jack could find a buyer for it, which he eventually did after a few months. The car's new owner is a member here ("nonosv6")...At least, we know where this car is (which is a significant part of "Buick racing history")...

As for Jim D'Alessandro's white GN, I remember seeing it only once at Englishtown, NJ after Jim sold it, but it seems to have dissappeared as I never saw it again ever...:frown: I think it was a guy from New York state who bought it, but I'm far from being sure...Maybe Jim himself who is a member here ("Jim D 1310") could jump in and tell us?...I sent a "pm" to Jim to ask...
Speaking of the Ron Cosner car, I saw it advertised for sale about a year ago in the Albany, NY region and had what looked to be a 455 Pontiac...(why?...) motor in it !...Here's a link: http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/ca...-dalessandro-tube-chassis-grand-national.html

Hope this clears thing up a little!...

Claude. :)

My friend Michael Fell owns Jimmy's old white car.
The car is set up for outlaw drag radial.
-Duttweiler 274
-GT4788
-Pro Torque Converter
-Glide from CK
-Air to Water Intercooler
-Fast from Hartline

This poor thing has had a lot of bad luck and has not made a full
pass in with this combination.
They tried going to the World Street Nationals in Orlando a couple years ago.

Otto has seen the car too.

I still have parts and peices for a Project I was working on for Bruce. He died right in the middle of it. We also swapped books back and forth. One day I get a letter in the mail from a sweet old lady that Bruce was renting from, (or she rented from him) She had found a book with my name in it and googled me and found my address. She sent the book back to me. I think she was darn near 100 yrs old. Bruce and I would talk frequently, and had just started to build stuff we talked about. My last project for Buce was a timing cover with AN fittings welded on it in stagic places. One of his many mad scientist ideas. Great guy to talk with. RIP Bruce. I look forward to lengthy conversations again in the future. Maybe we CAN solve the worlds problems. (albeit a tad too late.;)) I think he is now perfecting the Flux Capasitor with Tesla.:)

Thanks! Sounds like you have some pretty good memories of him. I did some more searching and found he was on a diy efi board that sounds like many over there knew him as well. Seems like he had quite a life from what I read.
I think I will start a new thread on historically signifigant Turbo Buicks as well

Anyone have a link to the thread where Bruce talked about his first CNP with the 3 MSD boxes?
