A buddy called the other night and says that he's has something that I WANT to see. So I go over there last night and in his garage he has my old 67 Chevelle that I sold 20 years ago! The car has not changed much at all. The kid I sold it to got killed several months after I sold it to him and the car has gone through 2 other owners who never liscened it or did anything with it. It still had my wheels and tires although they didn't come with the car when my buddy bought it and the 12 bolt and TH400 w/manual v-body did was not in it either. It still had My paint job although someone had started to sand it off, MY original motor that I built: 383ci stroker, 13.5:1, roller cam, ported heads, etc.. When I sold it the motor, tranny and 12 bolt w/spool only had approx 20 miles on it and the kid drove it on the weekends so he put approx 200 miles on it before the accident.
My buddy's not sure what he's going to do with it but I told him to let me know if he want's to get rid of it. I'm not sure I would want to go through it all b/c when I had it the quarters had to be fiberglassed/bondoed and the trunk floor is gone now so basically it was a bondo'd basketcase so it would need to be done right. The nice thing now is that everything can be purchased to fix it correctly.
So, if you were me would YOU purchase it back or simply remember the memories and move on..?
