A buddy called the other night and says that he's has something that I WANT to see. So I go over there last night and in his garage he has my old 67 Chevelle that I sold 20 years ago! The car has not changed much at all. The kid I sold it to got killed several months after I sold it to him and the car has gone through 2 other owners who never liscened it or did anything with it. It still had my wheels and tires although they didn't come with the car when my buddy bought it and the 12 bolt and TH400 w/manual v-body did was not in it either. It still had My paint job although someone had started to sand it off, MY original motor that I built: 383ci stroker, 13.5:1, roller cam, ported heads, etc.. When I sold it the motor, tranny and 12 bolt w/spool only had approx 20 miles on it and the kid drove it on the weekends so he put approx 200 miles on it before the accident.

My buddy's not sure what he's going to do with it but I told him to let me know if he want's to get rid of it. I'm not sure I would want to go through it all b/c when I had it the quarters had to be fiberglassed/bondoed and the trunk floor is gone now so basically it was a bondo'd basketcase so it would need to be done right. The nice thing now is that everything can be purchased to fix it correctly.

So, if you were me would YOU purchase it back or simply remember the memories and move on..?

KS:cool:

i would buy it back. plus you will have a cool story to tell, how many people can get thier old car back after 20 yrs? i still kick myself for letting go of my old cars.

What a opportunity. Definately buy it back if you can. This is my '69 I sold 19 years ago...Wish I still had it. :frown:

Oh, if I only had some of the cars I had as a kid!!! Got my licsens on moms 69 Super Bee (Why does this thing always need rear tire:biggrin: )the first car loan was on a beautiful 38k mile 69 Camaro, first luxo liner was a 58k mile Caddy convertable owned by a little old lady who never had the top down and still had the blue on the white wall spare in the trunk...for 850 bucks, or the 55 chevy, or the 67 chevelle, or the .........

If it was me Id buy it even if it was just a shell! but Im only 20 years old my self so its hard to say :) but I couldnt let it go thats just me tough

As long as you don't have to pay "Full Sentimental Value" for it, go for it.

'66-67 Chevelles have classic lines and won't be any cheaper 20 years from now.

If it means anything to you then buy it back. I have owned a ton of cars that I wish i could have back. My first car was a brand new 1982 Mustang GT that I bought when I was 16 and after searching for the car for 6 years I found it but it is junk. That sent me on a mission to find another mint 82 and this weekend I have to drive 900 miles to AR to pick it up. I bought a showroom fresh car that I will keep for the rest of my life.
The only difference is that this one will not be raced and Im married now so this one wont get to see some of the "things'LOL that my first one got to see.
