Here's some more pics of what's going on...good lord I think the UPS and FEDEX guys think I'm smuggling drugs from Cuba or something cause I get deliveries everyday. LOL! Check out the chrome-moly tubular upper and lower front control arms from Hartline's. They are made by TRW Motorsports and boy these things are BAD@SS!!! I'm also getting the Alumastar centers powdercoated black which will look sick. My turbo should be in Tuesday. Now I'm pretty much waiting on my motor from Dan which won't be done until late winter. I think my credit card/wallet is on fire literally from spending so much lately. That's ok...you guys can come support me at the Midwest Challenge in two weekends...I have so many parts for sale it's ridiculous. Enjoy the pics! More to come later after I make more progress in the engine bay area! Oh the shock and lower control arm picture is funny. If you can't tell, I'm having a little trouble with the passenger side. I need to drill out the top part of the shock stud for that assembly to drop down. I have a ratchet strap ready to catch the spring. It's not as bad as it looks...the spring has barely any tension on it now. Kids don't try this at home! LOL! Yup I'm crazy:eek: :D ;)

Tell ya what...this project is so time consuming, it ain't funny! This is probably the closest I'll ever be to doing an off-frame resto. I mean hell the front half of the car is pretty much all frame now! It will look so nice when it's all done though. With these cars getting 20+ years old, I bet we see more and more people doing stuff like this. Factory parts are getting OLD and are starting to WEAR down...just take it all apart and replace everything and you'll be good for another 20 years! :D

Parts

Man that's goin to be one SIC brick dOn_ 3d;) Your right them AlumaStars are goin to stand-out are they 15"s? So you blacking out the stars ony or are you doin the inner ring that looks like a bead loc as well.. Whatever you decide to do they will look good. Those TRW uppers and lowers are works of art almost a shame they'll be covered. That AC delete looks good who makes em'? Actually that reminds me I need to give Mark a call need a few things, SM cover,Transl. cover..ask him a few questions in regard to the rad he sells.

Seeing you go thru your ride and upgrading like you are. Makes me wanna take out the plastic and do some Buick shopping. Only way that'll happen is if we hit the lottery think POWERBALL is over 300 million....Like I said that's goin to be one SIC brick. keep us all updated with pics...............by the way Merry Christmas

Post up the pics of your wheels when they get done. Would love to see what they look like. By the way, what size and bs are they?

We dont have AC delete plates down here in Louisiana.;)

Looks real nice. Kinda hard on the old checking account though....

The Alumastars are indeed 15". The rears are 15x10 with 5" BS while the fronts are 15x4 with 1.75" BS (I think). I'm having the center stars powdercoated black as well as the gold screws. The rest will remain polished. Should look pretty sick. To my knowledge nobody has done this on these wheels? Even if I am not the first...who cares! I'll be running 28x12.50 ET Streets in the rear.

Nice AC delete plate. wink wink:biggrin:

Gee I wonder who makes these plates?  ;)

I actually run a TON of Mark's stuff on my car. The interior has tons of stuff from him as well as under the hood. I'll still be running the MAF-less 4" cold-air chrome intake piping going to the turbo!

Yeah us folks up here near the lake don't really need A/C. And I don't ever use heat because I don't drive the car in the cold months. Oh and not to mention all my diaphrams inside the car blew up anyways because I routed the vacuum lines wrong and got into high boost. So my heater controls were all shot to begin with. Looks so much cleaner under the hood without all that garbage!

Actually I'm probably going to install one of those standalone A/C units that fit under the dash from Vintage Air. That would be pretty trick. Then I could still claim my car has A/C! ;)

...what are the details on the rims bs etc. and can you go bigger than 15s?...how much were the rims and where did you get them?...thanks for info...noah.

see above posts about the details...they don't make them in bigger than 15" to my knowledge...got them from Jegs...they are not cheap at $400 each for the fronts and $350 each for the rears:eek:

Did I mention these wheels only weigh 9 lbs a piece? LOL! I'll be literally floating on the tires. I can pick them up with one finger. They are the lightest racing wheels you can buy to my knowledge.

Don,

You have lost your grip, but the car is going to be sick.
The control arm are made by TRZ... BTW.
Please make a new thread for the wheel when you start working on them.
