just spend a lil over a year putting a brand new motor in a 95 buick riv totaled it the day i finished by falling asleep at the wheel

found out the fwd 3.8sc has the chevy bolt pattern so itll bolt to the 700r4

would like to know what tranny is in a 87 regal and if the tail and the driveshaft will fit if i swap in a 700r4 from an s10 that had a 2.8

how come noone puts the 3.8sc into the regals and what does anyone know about this i need all the info i can get i want rwd fwd is for babies

Regals came with the 200R4-as for why a FWD 3800SC hasn't been tried in a RWD Regal; I don't know. Guess there's something sinister and delightful about a turbod 6 banger putting the fear of God into mere V-8s......

so than i guess my next question is does the 200r4 have the chevy 60 degree bolt patern

200 -4R has BOP pattern and chevy v8 pattern but not corporate fwd 60 degree pattern like on the 2.8L (3.1, 3.4)

if you can mate the 3800SC motor to 700 trans the trans will fit in car with mod to trans crossmeber
but even if you find an adapter to bolt either the 200-4r or the 700 to the 3800 SC I dont know what youll do for motor mounts , i dont think FWD blocks are cast to be bolted up to rwd frame (at least in the case of the 2.8s it a different blocks for fwd or rwd ), or what you need to do for oil pan to fit an g-body frame

so than a question would be dont that have a regal that had a rwd 3.8 in it and couldnt i find one of those put my motor in just tap the holes for the motor mounts use the oil pan off that but the rear wheel drive 3.8 use the bop pattern so id still have to get a s10 700r4
next question is the 700r4 going to hold up to the torque and horse load from the 3.8sc

The last Buick Regal to use a 3.8L and was still rear wheel drive was a 87. Differant block then the 95 you are trying to use.
