i broke 2 starters this week... wtf is going on,,

first time, starter went out, replace it with a 94 camaro v6 starter, bolted everything right up,started it up,and work just fined for about 2 weeks,no hassle,no rubbing sounds,no click clak sounds, everything went just fine, until yesterday,i turned my car up,and i heard a loud nasty annoying sound, like something underneat broke,i looked under, and a piece of the starter housing was broken off:confused: ,,,(no warranty due to cracked housing<void:mad: ),so i bought another froma 94 lt1 camaro, bolted up,started it up,and boom there goes another, broken piece!!!...

I have washers on two of the bolts, for alignments,(no shims) wtf can it be!!!??

cracked/bent flywheel?
shims?
adjustment?

please guys help me out,its stressing me out!!!

Is there any chance that there could be coolant in your cylinders from a partially blown head gasket? If the engine hydraulics a little when cranking it can break the starter housing. I had it happen to me on a LT1 that got water in the cylinders.

i do belive i have a partially blown headgasket, because it get hot under boost!? SHYTT!!!!im frustrated now

As said above, the engine could be going into a hydrolic lock from a coolant leak but also you said you had washers under the bolts for alignment? Do you mean you put washers between the starter and the block? If so, that's a no-no. You have to use a starter shim, not washers. The starter can pivot on the washers causing the starter to bind on the flywheel.

i have the washers between the bolt and starter as alingment. ihad this going for a good 2 yrs before the starter went bad, ever since then with the new starter units, its been breaking the housings.. with a lt1 starter unit, how many shims will i need? any infor highly appreciated?
