I moved into a new house in October and needed a solution to keep my dog in the yard. I had to build 84 feet of wooden fence on one side of the property but I didnt want wood on the other side, near a walkway. We decided that an Iron fence and gates would be the ticket. After getting a $3000 quote from the local iron worker/blacksmith guy I felt I needed another project(as if I dont already have enough on my plate!). Here are some pics. I have about $600 in metal and supplies in to it. Time consuming? Yes. Difficult? No. Plus I have the satisfaction of knowing that I built it and if I dont like something I just cut it out and redo it.

This is only one of the gates that I have. I have one more plus 18 feet of fence that isnt finished yet.

It is actually not to bad to make. I bought the scrolls from Kings Architectual Metal outlet off the internet and the other stuff from the local steel yard. I did however kill the mig machine in the picture. It was a POS from the beginning though. Now it is all getting welded with a 1975 era 225 Lincoln stick welder and some 7018 rods. Thanks for the compliments:biggrin:
