So my grandmother gave me my grandfather's M1 Carbine a few years ago that had been in her closet for 27 years. He died a year before I was born. She also said there was another gun that he shot in matches, but she had given it away to a family friend. I thought it was long gone since the guy died about 8 years ago. His wife passed a few months ago and her son called my dad and said he found his dad's gun and asked if he wanted it. He gave it to me and after 4 days of working on it I got it looking pretty good. Shot it and works great. Thought I'd share

Wow! Totally awesome! Great job there, especially what you did with the .45. You are one lucky guy.......hope you hold on to them always. I love both of those guns.

Great job and great combination. Interestingly enough, the M1 Carbine was designed to replace the 1911 for officers and non-front line troops. You are very fortunate to have these guns and the family history is priceless.

For sure. The M1 has the flip up sight. It's a low serial number model before they went to the adjustable sights

Nice!

Who is the manufacturer on the M1 and the 1911?

Inland Division of GM was one of the manufacturer's that made the M1's. I had the chance to shoot an M1 that had been converted to full auto. It is the only full auto gun I've ever fired. I enjoyed every round!!

Dave,
The M2 was full auto, I've never seen one of those.
My M1 is by far my favorite gun to shoot.
