Well, I was sitting inside on this very site and my mom comes running to tell me she backed into my car that has been parked in the same spot for 1 1/2 years. She told me she had no idea it was even there and didn't know what she even hit. Kind of hard to miss a big blue thing behind you isn't it? So i go outside and my right front filler which WAS in very nice shape now has two holes in it and was knocked completely loose and theres a nice groove on the chrome bumper THAT WAS nice and smooth. But on the upside she has said that she will pay to have it fixed. But what kills me is that i'm so anal about where i park and where i leave it sit and it gets hit in my own driveway go figure.

Man that sucks. I know how you feel. I drove my once show quality Beetle to the mall and parked in the boonies. I'm talking it was no less than 30 spaces away from the closest car. When I am walking out, some clown pulls up in his 70's rustbucket Buick and parks right next to my car. I am about to climb in when his kid slings the 2-ton door into my car! I'm not talking door ding either, it was a dent. What was he thinking? Even if he wanted to look at my car, couldn't he park 2 spaces away?

Some people just don't think that others care a little more for their belongings and are just inconsiderate boobs.

hey just be glas its a bumper and filler, not a 1/4 panel..... I am ver VERY particular about where i leave my cars... but 2 MOM stories about my past.....

First New car was a 1996 Lexus ES300 Chrome/tint the car was MINT.... 3 years i had it, and never one car wash detailed 2 times a month.... mom borrowed it..... 16k in damage!

Second NEW car.... 1999 Acura 3.5RL Chrome/Tint..... 4 days old.... Mom Borrowed it again..... Was Keyed outside a Store.....

I am now Numb to the Accidents/hishap's with her. I used to get annoyed, but when it all comes down to it.... .She is your Mother and one day (hopefully a long time away) she wont be there as i know mine wont either.... The Car can ALWAYS be replaced no matter how much of your heart might be in it. But your Mother cant. Go Easy on her i am sure it was honestly an accident... we have all had them ;) i know i had a few, thankfully not in the buick though

Lucky for Me though she knows when she goes, i am getting a GNX with Thanks MOM on it somewhere.... and she knows it

I hear you on the mall parking. I don't care if its a damn down pour i park at the end of the lot a walk a mile or something close. It just drives me nuts because i used to park my old 78 monte on the other side of the driveway but sap dripped all over which didn't matter much it was all primer but the buick is painted and i don't want the sap on it. So now its a no win situation

Sorry to hear about your mishap...

Is this car a daily driver?? It sounds like you do take it around a bit. Unfortunately, no matter what you do... it's a car and it will somehow or another find it's way to calamity. It's good your mom is going to get it fixed. As someone else said.. it's your mom, don't worry about it too much.

Right now, my father is taking care of my GN while I'm here in Germany. I'm just waiting for the phone call that he messed something up on it. But, if he does, I'll be OK with it... it can be fixed.

My car is a daily driver, and I just see it as that. It may look nice, it may run good, but it's there for enjoyment. Just like anything else in life, that comes with risks.

I am still preaching that lady drivers are still the worst!
I see it every day. MOM's INCLUDED!

My mom is tough on cars & I mean anybody's cars.. She will walk by with a handbag the size of luggage & scrape the side of her own car or any in her path.. ( Must come from living in Mass)

Her new taurus has more scratches than my Minivan with 4 kids.

hahaha who is the bumper filler less one now?! thats what you get for making fun of my bumper filler-less car

just kidding, thats sucks though..

-Neil

actually i still have the filler on the car and it still looks better than yours;)

I'm sorry about what happened my grandfather (!) backed into my new car before I had even seen it! But it got fixed and so will yours, it's family!

Actually I think I'd give up both my cars for a chance to talk to my Mom again. :)

I don't think she could hit mine as she never drove. :D

Anyway, your Mom said she'd pay for the damage so it's all good.

Give her a hug and kiss for me. ;)

And be thankful.....

I jnow how you feel. My driveway is wide enough to park along one side and drive up the other with plenty of room to spare. My uncle managed to go around the Suberban that was in front of my car and side-swipe my Toyota messing up both front and rear driver side doors. What makes it worse is that the shop that did the repair diddn't do the best work, so I'm reminded of it everytime I wash the car.

At least she only got the bumper and the filler. What did she hit it with? Can you at least say that the Buick won.;)

The buick didn't win this one. She has a 13 year old bmw 535i with 150,000 miles on it and not a thing happened to that car. NOTHING AT ALL

Eh, these things happen. Can't get too worked up about it. How 'bout this one, I backed into 2 of my own cars. :(
Was backing my Dad's truck out of my driveway, and wasn't used to the lack of visibility with the topper on the back. Anyway, backed into the front of my '70 Camaro, and pushed it back into he front of my T-Type. Oh, was I mad at myself. No damage to the Regal, but the Camaro fender was buckled pertty good, and the rear bumper on his truck was brutalized! I guess the little Ranger couldn't stand up to my 2 hulks very well!!

We went out of town this weekend. I put the Buick in the garage next to my covered up worn out Beetle. I put a tennis racquet and tennis ball on the bug and asked good ole dad to stop by once or twice a day and hit the ball down the street for the dog to exercise. I get back and the ball and racquet are on the trunk of the Buick with plenty of scratches where the dog tried to get the ball off the car.
What am I gonna do, yell at dad on fathers day? He didn't know the dog would do it.
