87 buick grand national-my problem is when u floor it, 1st gear overrevs, it's like u have to lead off on it so she can shift to 2nd. All the higher gears seem fine, when driving normally she drives just fine as long as u don't floor it all the way. Thinking about getting advice from a good tranny guy to help. From the guys here that had this kind of experience could it be the 20 year old t.v cable needs replacing(maybe over tightening in the pass), valve body needs work, Solenoid needs replacings(seems to down shift fine), Goveror switch maybe. I have the car for about 2 years, it's a solid one(no rust)drive almost like new. Didnt have any major upgrades when I bought it(pretty much stock). the tranny fluid along with filter and gasket was replaced last summer(it was very dirty). u think it could be from just poor mateince from the old owners not replacing the fluid. still drives o.k, not ready to spend $$$$ on a rebuilt just to floor it even though I'd like too. Any ideas what's doing this. Just so guys know I won't be doing the work myself, if it's done it will be done by a trained professional :frown:
