Hey all,

thanks for taking a look at this post. I was just wondering if this time sounded ok to you guys.... 14.3 @ 94 mph... first time i've ever been to the drag strip and first time the car has ever seen the drag strip. Basically she's pretty stock, 90k miles... K&N air filter, bosch 237 fuel reg, 93 chip (still running stock 14/15 lbs of boost) and some gauges

what can i do to make this faster guys?

That's about what mine ran stock too, you might want to add 60ft and 1/8th times also.

Time for some slicks and 110, 23 psi hello 13.0

Hotwired fuel pump, new spark plugs and wires, 3" downpipe, injectors, slicks, test pipe, air bag... just a few things you can get. Make sure you get a scantool so you can tune your car and whatnot...

http://www.gnttype.org - good resource.

Scan tool, race gas, race chip, race tires and 20# of boost. And practice, practice practice. My wife took my car down the track once last year In street tune. I ran a 12.4 and she went 14.5!! I have never seen my car run that slow.

A test pipe alone will break into the 13's. I gained 4 tenths solid in the 1/8th when I took off that old crusty cat converter. Then octane and boost will creep into mid 13's or better on street tires.

But first, scantool and fuel delivery if not already done.

What was your 60 & 1/8 times.

Your power is down, you need 99-100 MPH.
Have you done the spring cleaning?

Unless it's already been done, I'll wager you a Happy Meal that you need new valve springs.

Do the Spring Cleaning per www.gnttype.org.

And before you spend another dollar on bolt on's, buy a Scanmaster or similar diagnostic device. You gotta have the info to tune and you gotta tune to go faster!

Good luck!

thanks all

Thanks guys!

Well i guess i'd say its sort of unanimous that i need a Scanmaster eh? And yes also i'm planning on picking up the Racetronix fuel pump and hot wire kit... for 139 how can u go wrong right? Also, i have a test-pipe/cut-out on the way too.

Believe it or not, i did the spring cleaning. I have no idea why my trap speed was only 94 mph, but i have heard from tons of people that i need to do an LT1 valve spring job. I cleaned the intercooler (which was redic dirty) did all the fluid changes etc, but i havnt changed the sparkplugs yet... i have them in the front seat too  i'd like to do all of the rest of my mods on pump gas 93 by the way... so does that change the mods i should be looking to go for next? (on a budget btw)

PS.
