Can anyone tell me about any medium sized (ta60 or so) BB turbos that are totally stock appearing?

Who's got what.

No such thing..

I don't think there is a 'stock appearing' ball bearing turbo. All the ones I have seen require water lines to cool the bearings- totally NOT stock appearing. But once you decide to go for a ball bearing turbo, stock kinda goes out the window.....Check the "Vendors Specials" section for good deals on turbos. Hope this helps...-Steve

not all bb turbos are water cooled..i have a turbonetics and does not require water cooling...the precision ones do I believe...i got mine from Jack Cotton

WhiteCobra- You are totally right- I didn't remember that there are some bb turbos that don't require water lines.

Smackdown- If you are OK with not totally stock appearing, then the world is your oyster- call a reputable vendor or manufacturer with a list of mods and a realistic honest timeslip goal in mind. You will have lots of choices! The new billet wheel turbos spool fast as well, and are available in bb also if money is no object. I plan on getting a billet wheel turbo for the 4.1 project in my sig...

If you are trying to go with a TA style cover then i think the cheetah turbos from turbonetics are a decent idea. Some of them are ball bearing and move air just as good as a regular TA with the same size inducer. But you get the benifit of the ball bearing. I had one on my car when i first bought it and it would hit 17psi at 1/2 throttle but with the converter that is in the car i chose to remove it and put a journal bearing TE44.Just for a better match up.

Yea, a ta style cover is mandatory.. the water cooling lines are ok with me. most people wont notice that. quick spool is the ONLY thing I'm going for. Throttle response and spool up is key. I can adjust everything after that...
