While driving down an alternative route the other day to head to class I glanced at some old buildings to find a GN peeking out between them. I pulled over and tried to see if anyone was in the buildings that possibly knew who owned the cars, but not a soul in sight. I've continued for the last couple of weeks to locate the owner, but the DMV won't help me and I don't have any "friends" in the right places to help me either.

The GN looked in bad shape with a driver's fender that needed to be replaced (wrecked) and a quarter panel that looked like someone tried to fix with some bondo that was poping out.

It hasn't been registered since '93 and since I didn't want a shotgun pointed at me didn't try anything stupid to see what was left under the hood. I did get the license plate number and VIN down, but without the DMV helping me I can't find the owner.

Does anyone know how to go about locating the owners? Would a CarFax be able to show me that?

The VIN is as follows: 16(or G...I can't read the number/letter as it was getting dark)4GK4770GP219441

If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it. These cars are awesome (and one of the dream cars I can remember growing up that I told myself I would own one day) and I'm willing to save her if the owner is willing to part ways with her. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Joe

Try posting in the stolen car forum, it might be someones car that has been abandoned after being stolen.

Where is this car in KC, MO? Was it an 87 GN with lots of rust in the Paola area maybe? Just wondering.

No its in Leavenworth county on 24/40 highway. I would love to save this car, but locating the owner is the problem :( :(

It's mine. Really. I'll be there tomorrow with a trailer. Just leave the keys.

Oh yeah, I'll be pulling with my new 53' Tractor Trailor rig Don Prudhomme's team just gave me for Sunday's winning tune-up.

Will that fit in your driveway? ;)

Really, good luck finding the owner...or a place to keep your new parts car.

Was it an 86? If so, was it near a house? E-mail me if there is anything I can do to help you locate the owner. BTW, a friend of mine has an enclosed trailer that we could "rescue" the car with. Anyone who let's a GN rot like that doesn't deserve to have it anyway.

Is that the one that I saw a few years ago by Tongie??? East of the high school??? Haven't been out that way lately, but I thought I saw one out there somewhere as well...

I have been trying to buy one in Tongie that is rotting next to a house. One day he wants to sell, the next he is going to restore it.
I would never take a car like that. I have thought about it, but I would never do that. It just makes me mad to see someone let a rare car rot away.

That's the one!!

I drove by today to drool (or maybe to dream about wet sanding her new paint I would lay down on her if I owned it) and what do you know....one of the buildings is used for farm equipment auctions as it looks like they are gearing up for a huge auction this weekend.

So you've tried to buy it off the guy? What did you offer him?

Sounds like I need to smack him upside the head for doing this to a GN

I guess I need to save my pennies and get a nice daily driver type GN instead of dealing with this guy. I just wish he would at least put it in some kind of storage with a roof over its head.

I think that is the same car that I've seen there probably no more than about 5 yrs now...Just sitting there...

Then again, I've got an 87 T just sitting there...but currently putting together a motor for it...Should be running soon...And my GN needs paint...BADDDD!!! Oh well, need to get it running, too...cam should be here this week sometime...

Stay away, it's mine!!! lol I've been working with a friend of mine for 4 or 5 months now to buy this car. His son knows the owner so he is keeping me informed. I will keep you updated.

I know, old thread. I'm just curious.... What ever happened with this car?????

I get all my stuff from Bowling Green Customs, GN/T Performance and Kenne Bell! I know it's up to date, econonmically priced, effective and not stolen!
