so i did the vac. brake swap today... it went ok... i was told to drop the steering so i did... put everythinjg back together and left... made it like 1 min. down the road and the car died!! i put it in nutrual and try to start it and NOTHING!!!! all the interior and head lights work and everything works BUT the turn signals, hazzards and scan master DONT WORK!!!! someone help me!!!
the car wont event turn over at all... please i need to get this fixed asap

Check the connections at the bottom of the colum, make sure u did'nt pinch any wires where the colum bolts to the body, check fuse, check fuse link at the starter, (I'm no expert but it sounds like you pinched a wire or a connection came loose), are your head lights working? I need coffe

will do.....

things that work....
headlights
inteior lights...
radar detector hardwired into thw fusebox
alarm for lights being on

thngs that DONT work...
radio
turn signals
hazzards

ok... so... no pinched wires... and checked all the wire connections everything looks fine....

aslo when i turn the key NOTHING like my fuel pump doesnt ever turn on... so i think its some where in the ignition

it may be your ignition switch(bottom of the colum), I can't understand why it would go bad and shut the car down when driving  , might have knocked 1 of the rods (inside colum) out of place when you pulled the colum down? fuse links sounds fine (I would check them just in case). let us know how u make out.

a little more info on the ignition switch.. whats it look like and what do you think iw wrong with it

it's mounted on the steering colum at the bottom, has large plug with 2 or 3 connections on it, did you pull the colum out when you installed the break system? could be loose plug,

i jst dropped it not comletely out just the 4 bolts on the fire wall and the 2 nuts near the dashh.... u think i checked all teh connections though

ummm.. well i se a little red box under the dash looks like maybe a alarm... and i have a light that blinks security when a door is opened

that may be the problem, does your turn signals and flashers go off with your alarm? (did you check the fuse links at the starter yet?

the alarm isnot hooked up i dont think.. i dont know if it even is.. but it has a factory light that says security... and no on the starter.,. but mwhen i turn the key the fuel pump or nothing turns on

just asked oild owner...

the car HAS a factory theft deturnt system on oit anyone know anything about it???

update

ok... so did some work ... i have power going to the the starter,,, but i dont have power ath the ignition... (the 2 wire harnesses aboiut mid way up the steering colum on the top) when i turn the key... none of my dashlights work or windows or radio... this makes me thing its the ignition some where... my head lights and interior lights WORK!!! i have power to the fuse box..

i have not checked the fuseable links between the starter and the ingnition... i will do that tomorrow when im on a loift not in the middle of a parking lot...

if a fuseable link was blown would this cause my problems..??? i think it would.. what do you guys think???

Sounds like the ignition switch to me, check the fuse links anyway (take about 5 minutes), get a test light, check the 2 red wires on the ignition switch to see if they have voltage, if so turn the key to the on position and check the pink wire for voltage, also check the purple/white wire for voltage, if the red wires are hot, and the pink and purple/white wire a cold (when key is on) you have a bad switch, if the pink and purple/white are hot, you may have to check out your theft system, could be a bad relay. (but I think its the ignition switch).

Sounds like fusible link A is bad.

If you put the key in the ON position and turn the air control to VENTS do you get the blower motor to work on HIGH?

Also with the key ON do you get power on either side of the 30A brake fuse?

Do the wipers work with the key ON?

Do you get any chimes working in the car say if you leave the keys in the IGN and the door open? Should ding if fusible link A is working.

Most likely it isn't. :frown:

Does the horn work?

That's also on fusible link A.

Only other possibility may be the connector under the wiper motor got loosened when you did the brake work.

C100 is the large multi-cavity engine to interior connector that feeds the fuse box.

It's located just under the wiper motor and powermaster system.

The horn does not work, which connection are you talking about? Which one is fusible link A?
