2.5" wide by 30" long metal trime piece that is above the door opening...it that holds the headliner and covers up the ends of the A-pillar and door plastic trim pieces.

I can't get it off?? Secret tool or technique??

Thanks for any advice.

Bob

It's a real PITA isn't it? :)

There are these plastic clips that hold the piece in place. You'll need to be forceful and delicate all at the same time. I gently pull/twist toward me (I'm inside the car) and down. This should dislodge the curved end of the trim piece and allowyou to tilt it forward (away from you) to dislodge it from the other side of the clip. The sides are actually easy. Try removing the front and rear ones!

I've usually removed those by standing outside the car and using a "press in/up and out" to release the inner side of the clip, then I can pop it off. (After the A-pillar trim is off and before the B-pillar trim is removed)

I find the ones at the windsheild and rear window far more of a PITA...especially when coated with window goo to "help" them stay in place from the factory...

guys at the shop said sometimes it is less aggrivating to just break the clips and buy new ones. :D

Got it off....nothing broken and no injury to me :)

Thanks guys....Bob

Yep, that's what I've done, though bending those pieces is easier than you'd think too...now I have extras of those silly clips and the trim pieces too!
