Need help selecting piston rings...

I've got a standard bore block & stock pistons. I don't know what type of rings are good for our cars & so don't really know what my choices exactly are..
Do I need file to fit rings or the type you just install without filing? I've heard that Speed Pro chrome or plasma moly rings are a good choice, but are they file to fit or not? Also heard about Hastings & total seals...just don't know what's the best choice...

I also would like to know this. I am going to get my engine kit friday and was going to have the shop file the rings for me if needed.

Ive used speed pro file to fit mly rings. Set them up right and you will have excellent service from them for a long time.
