My step daughter currently has a '83 desiel 300D and wants another mid 80's Benz. I've been told that some models chasis aren't very good, but not sure which ones. She used to work at a Benz repair shop but siad they aren't really helping her decide too much, she doesn't work there anymore.
We were looking at several convertible models, 560SL, 420SL, and 380SL.
Anyone know anything about these as I know very little when it comes to Benz models and repair.
I've tried to convince her to get something else, but she's set on older Benz's. She had a lead on a 300CD that an old guy owned and was original owner and was selling, it was in perfect shape cosmetically, but needed about $1700 worth of repairs and new tires and had 180k miles, wanted $5k for it and wouldn't budge on price, so with it needing a new rear half axle I passed.
