I have gotten a few different opinions on what I should do first to my Stock 87' National.....some of the suggestions include buying a torque strap, connecting front brace, rear seat brace, volt booster, knock gauge, drag radial, adjustable regulator, scan tool etc etc......I would like some information on what other people thought....so if you guys could let me know your opinion for the first 5 mods to do to a stock National, I would greatly appreciate it.....heres what I think I should get first...but I dont know that much about Nationals...

1. BFG Drag Radial 275/60/15
2. Scan Tool
3. Walbro 340 Fuel Pump
4. 160 Thermostat
5. Flowmaster 2 1/2in exhaust

PLease tell me if I am on the right track.....and give me a few suggestions on where to buy certain products...thank you!

sounds like you have the right ideas

add an adjustable waste gate and do the spring cleaning thing on the GNTtype page to make sure your state of tune is good

and

have lots of fun

HTH :)

Also, don't forget the adjustable fuel pressure regulator! I would get that before the drag radials, as the car will be a lot more fun once you can tune it properly!

Rather than getting a "band-aid" (so-called) torque strap, actually cure the problem with a set of poly motor mounts from Paul.

Another great fellow with super-quality products & Customer Service! :)

1) Read EVERYTHING over at www.gnttype.org , especially the "spring cleaning" info.

2) No flowmasters.

3) Call a well known vendor like Two Lane mentioned. Look for the supporting vendors of this site (banner ads at the top of this page) or see the big list at: www.gnttype.org/vendors

I'm also new to the GN world, but i can tell u wut i've done.

First thing was to ditch that stock airbox. I added a 14" cone open element filter (K & N Style). That helped alot.

Ended up installing a Walbro in tank fuel pump while troubleshooting a problem; was told to do it either way.

Biggest difference i've noticed as far as performance goes ... 3" downpipe with test pipe / dump. Even when running through the stock exhaust (dump closed) car runs like it never has before.

'Course take all that with a grain of salt; i'm still new. Good luck and have fun! They aren't joking about becoming obsessed with mods for your GN. It's already happened to me!
