New chevy commercial

Is it just me, or did the SSR sound like it had a turbo for some reason

Just saw it on the TV at TGIF's when we were having dinner. Couldn't hear the sound but the commercial was pretty good. Liked the fact that a 66 Chevelle came into the picture at the end of it.

just checked the site, and like i thought, it's just a naturally aspirated 300hp 5.3L. Maybe it just was the rig, i didn't hear the same sound on the website.

I'd have to agree, the vette looks cool. Some people say the rear looks too fat compared to the nose, but overall I like it alot.

I think the new vette looks awesome, too bad GM won't build a performance car that I can afford anymore. What ever happened to the good old days of the GNs, Syclones, Typhoons, TTAs and F bodys? I hate to say it, but Ford and Chrysler are taking much better care of their most loyal customers...... the performance enthusiasts! I think the turbo whistle was coming from the car
carrier.

Agreed....GM's pricing themselves out of the average buyer's ability to pay for a decent performance car.

However, you'd need to remove the TTA from your list as it was priced just a few bucks under $32,000.....in 1989 dollars!

Of course no young guys would be packed into a 66 Chevelle like that. Most of my son's friends don't even know what make a Chevelle is let alone what car it is. Should have been packed with a bunch of balding 45 yearolds

I liked what I saw of the vette. I had the Cadillac version pass me on the interstate a few weeks ago.

i liked the vette but w/o the pop up headlights it looks viper esque from the front and very exotic form the side. was that pick-up the new colorado?

I think the Vette looks damn good! I don't like anything in the 70's or 80's, but they continually started to look better thru the 90's. I was very impressed with the C5, now the C6 is finally getting them back to rivaling the looks from the 60's. I will say thank God they canned the pop-up headlights. I don't think I like pop-ups on any car.

Like the new vette but it certainly has the look of other cars already out there.. I.e. The front end looks much like the Mazda RX-8 to me..
