hi ive got an 86 gn that ive had since may of 87 its only got 23000 original miles ,its been basically sitting for about 12 years except for beeing started and moved in the drive way. im planning on getting it ready to drive this coming spring and i have a few questions. ive been told i should dis connect the pvc from the turbo. do i need a special breather or what do i need to do? the cars is all stock with exception of a hypertech chip i put in in 87.i was also wandering what fuel pump and chip and injectors are good for a stock motor i just want a little more performance.i also have read you guys talking about a hot wire when it comes to fuel pumps. what is that? im going to put new tires on it(the originals that are on it have terrible flat spots) and i would like to go with a little bigger on the back. im looking for something that will fit on stock rims but not look quite so small i also dont want any thing that is to big. 1 more question i hope someone can help me with last time i drove the car on the road about 4 years ago every time i stepped on it enough that the turbo lights came on(it has a digital dash) the check engine light comes on,it resets when i shut the car off and it will stay off as long as i drive it with out stepping on it. any ideas? sorry this is so long but ive been told that you guys can help. thanks much, jeff

Sure you want to do this? OK - well start here: The Grand National / T-Type / Turbo Regal Buick Spring Cleaning Guide to catch up on the maintenance you need to do. Here is the hot wire kit and fuel pump: Buick Fuel Pump Offer - GNTTYPE.ORG After 20 years, you'd be well advised to change the pump and wiring. Now for the chip, you probably need to replace the one you have with one tuned for the crap gas we have now - Eric does a good chip: TurboTweak Home Before you get too carried away, you will want a scanmaster and decent boost gauge. The list goes on and on - depends on how deep you want to go. Good Luck hth.

It sounds like a really nice car:). I wouldn't do too much to it if you want to retain it's value. Do the "Spring Cleaning". As far as mods, injectors (42lb), hotwire kit, fuel pump, 237 regulator, Hooker 2 1/2" catback exhaust, one of Eric's chips. This should give you noticeably more power without tearing the car up. As far as the check engine light, put the car in diagnostic mode, ( "A" to "B" on the ALDL connector ) and check what codes are set in the ECM.
