New Heads?

Well I have to port and polish a another set of heads since I am on the verge of popping the head gasket again on that head. I think its time to get rid of them and geta different set. I was wonderin if i get the bigger valves for the heads do i neeed to open the throat area up to 85% of the valve size? I usually do that for the stock size valves but was not sure there was enough room for that approach on the 1.7, 1.50 size valves. Also where do i find the bigger valves? Thanx.

I would do the > 85% into the bowl area of > 1" in length, than radius/blend out with no sharp edges and a smooth curve on the short sides. Make the guides resemble a volcano and use some sort of measuring means to get the porting as close as you can, (WORKED FOR ME).

with stock valve on intake side
bowl port only and a good valve seat
