I am having BLM problems with my 86 , the car is popping under boost .I have check and replaced vaccum hoses , replaced charcoal canister sol ,EGR valve, ERG sol and Heater water valve. I ever sprayed carb cleaner around TB, vacuum block ,every place I could think of and nothing. Fuel Press is at 45psi vac off ,has KB ultimate chip in it. Now that I changed all those parts, when driving and I come to a stop, it feels like it is going to stall and hesitates when I take off. It did not do this when the old parts were in it. The old parts did not hold vac with vacuum pump. Stock chip does to same thing.Computer was reset after new parts installed. please help

I would start off by reseting your IAC to about 10-15 at idle and then see what happens.

I went through the same thing and the same process. I believe your problem is the MAF. At 725 rpms, you should be seeing 6-7 gps through the MAF and not 3-4. I saw the same thing on Turbolink.

If it reads too low, the computer will see it at the O2 and correct. I replaced the stock MAF with the LT1 and translator and the BLMs went immediately from 150 to 105. It runs rich at idle since I hotwired the pump and the FP is about 40-41 psi with line on.

i agree, MAF should have 5-6gpm not 3-4. borrow another MAF from someone to see for sure but i would bet it's the MAF. HTH

just an easy thing to check just in case, but check all your grounds on both the heads as they can screw with sensors and make all kinda problems including pegged BLMs. I doubt its the problem, but its free and easy to check. MAF does sound like it could be a culprit

I wouldn't bother messing with the IAC right now, that's not your problem, it's still in the realm of proper operation.

Your problem is your air flow at idle. As has been stated, it's WAY TOO LOW!! It should be 5-6 with a properly operating MAF.

Agree with the above the MAF sounds like the problem.

My stocker read good at idle but when you started getting into it, the readings were too low and the car would lean right out

did you try different base settings with your translator ?
they make a pretty big difference.. you may be able to get your readings more in line..

I'm having some similar problems...where is the best place to get an LS1 MAF and translator?
