Yeah after waiting an hour for a cop to come she gave me her little info and left the scene and her car. I went to the station and did the report and she will be getting about four tickets not to mention a letter from state farm. I hope they don't total it. I would be pissed then!!

Glad you got a a copy of the report!
Had a situation where the officer tried to prtect the 18 year old in a civic in this really small town ........ even though the officer admitted that it was the kids fault, he stated that (And I quote) "a report was not required as it is a civil issue". MY @$$!

Yours trully ended up fighting insurance companies to get the money for 12 months!!!! My insurance company "Allstate" did not really wanted to get involved. I am looking at dropping them.

Update #2

State farm said they use N.A.D.A as a guideline. The bodyshop said they located the parts and will have a price for me in the morning. I don't think they will total it out.(Hope Not) The 85 is listed under classic.

I dont think that there is enough damage to have it totalled. Even if they did total it, they would usually let you keep the car and on top of that give you the full market value. That way you can find your own parts cheaper and peice it together yourself and come out with some extra cash to play with.
Good luck,

Sorry to hear about your car. Ought to throw that hag in the clink for driving without insurance and they should confiscate her car and sell it to pay for your damage. Freakin' scumbag.

Insurance companies several services one of them is called CCC. They survey the "fair value" of a car in a particular area from various sales and carfaxes that they monitor. They're paid by the insurance companie.

Update#3

I dropped by the body shop to see if he had completed his parts search. He says he found all the parts in Michigan.(anyone know who?) he said it was about $5500 give or take $500. I told him I would be back at 2pm to get the car because I had a 2:40 appt. with State Farm to see the car. Mind you this was at 10am. car was in front of shop as in the pics. Im sure you all have guessed it. I return at 2 to find the car in the shop, no RT fender no inner liner, rest of header panel removed, bumper out of sight and harness laid on tor of tire. I WAS PISSED! He had this dumbfounded look on his face. When i ask him what was that for. I didnt make a scene(we buick owners are classy remember  ) as he told me he was just looking for more damage be for he callled it in. I notified my agent and called and informed the Claim office that i could not make the appointment due to this "incident" Now i have to wait 1 or two more days for the adjuster to visit the shop and issue a check, if I agree to the price. Some say I am going to have a tough time now but I dont see why if he says it $2400 in parts alone.

Not be be a pain in the rear but have you thought about taking the insurance money and getting an 87 to work on? If it were my car, i would try to find a roller GN and buy the car back from the insurance company. Do a swap with your drivetrain and keep the best parts from each car. Then have it painted and your good to go. I have a local painter that would be willing to paint the car for an amazingly cheap price. He is painting my 86 right now. If you PM me, I can get you a price. Then you could have no worries about value because you'd have an 87 as well. Just an idea. -----Jeremy

Yep! I have 3 plans and that was one. I would like an 86 t type roller if things go bad. I like that they have more of a sleeper look. Could cash out and part out the car. Or just stick it out and fix mine. JDPOLZIN it's cool. I'm open to all of you guys(and girls) suggestions.

Check sent to start. $4500 She is getting repaired and will post pics in the proper section when done. thanks for all the replies.

good luck with the repair process!

sorry I didn't see this thread earlier... there is an AWESOME puller in Tinley Park. Business is called Frametech, owner's name is Ernie. He can take something absolutely mutilated and straighten it again. All he does is pulling and alignments. In case something goes wrong and you need a quality frame guy, look him up...

Thanks for that Frame Guy!! Thanks I will talk to the bodyman and keep him in mind. I guess its time to start the parts search. 87 grill, header panel, pass fender, front bumper fillers, and want new lights for that clean look. Anyone got some extras stuff pm me.
