Thought i trashed my engine, but luckily it turned out that one of the nylon retainers or holders on the front drivers side rocker arm gave way......making the pushrod slap all over the place. What is more reliable than those little P.O.S. nylon jobs? I figure since I have one of them off, might as well do the rest so this doesnt happen again. Any tips would be appreciated, thanks:)

Rocker retainer

You don't have much choices, either stock style nylon or get a set of roller rockers.

I've got to check but I have a set of brass retainers with allen screws . if you tap out your existing retainer holes you might be able to use them . fire me a email with your address and I'll drop them in the mail for you if I can find them . they came off a set of billet rocker shafts . you just put a dap of red locktite on torque to about 16in/lbs :)

Sounds good. Ill pm you. Do you know anyone with a used set of roller rockers? Anyone besides T&D make them for stock heads? Is the best pricing new on those $450?

no problem . sorry no info on the roller rockers .:) I'm sure someone with info will chime in . I'll have the brass retainers in the mail for you first thing tomorrow. take care .

Those brass units won't work on a stock rocker shaft, the holes are too large in the stock shaft. (I'm 90% sure)

I have a set of billet shafts, with the brass buttons. All loaded with NEW gm rockers.

They ran great on my car for a month or 2, but I went with T&D's because my valve stem height is all over the map and I needed the adjustable rockers.

Interested?

Bob , you could be right . I don't remember the exact size compared to the stock plastic retainer hole size . i just have them kicking around and though maybe he would be able to put them to use .offer is still open if you want them :)

is it worth the money to do roller rockers? Im interested in the ones you have Turbo bob. Will they just bolt right on?
