What are the signs of a bad O2 Sensor? No check engine light, but my car is not running as fast as I think it should. Are there any advantages to changing it as far as PM goes?

I ran 9.1 at 75mph in the 1/8. 2.0 60ft. Left on no boost, about 2000RPM. Streel Tires. Granted I was on pump gas and only 17lbs of boost, but I figured with my set-up I should be running faster than that.

Any Suggestions? Thanks.
Matthew

02 has no effect at WOT....it will effect driveability and mileage, but no input at WOT

signs of a bad one are slow or no cross counts, bad gas mileage

Thanks for the info.

Just got back from the track. 100 octane Xylene mix 20lbs of boost and no change, except my 60ft increased almost 2 tenths, went from a 2.0 to a 2.19!

Any help ony why mar car is not that fast, other than tires? Thanks,
Matthew

tires are the most important part of the project....if you can't get the power down, it does no good......

(they are also the cheapest way to improve your et:D )

Tires make a huge difference....So does a little boost at the line.

Many factors come into play like rich condition causing slow spool, what do you use to tune?

What are your maf readings?

75 mph is about like a stocker so you do have a problem I would try tuning.

What are the maf reading on the scanmaster?
I just changed plugs and cleaned my intercooler the other week. a few months ago I replaced my coil pack and ignition module.
Any other suggestions? Thanks
Thanks for the help.

Yeah it sounds sickly....I just pulled a 1.9 60 foot with a stock turbo and drag radials at 5800 feet without trying too hard.

Since you did the plugs and other ignition stuff how about a new set of plug wires. Mine turn to french fries from the downpipe heat so I change them once a year. Could be the missing link as long as your fuel delivery is good etc

Hope that helps;)
Chris

Oh, mine also ran really slow with a bad 02.....and the MAF readings (AF on the scanmaster) go from 0-255 grams per second. If you mash the throttle and do not see 255 you have a blockage either intake or exhaust.

I will check the MAF readings on Sunday.

My plug wire are not that old. I have Taylor Spiral Pros. I have used them for years on my Small Blocks with out ever a problem of getting cooked. They still feel nice and soft.

I live in Central Va. Orange,
Thanks,
Matthew
