where can I buy one of these units & how hard is the install?

Why not cut to the chase and install a Melling HV oil pump kit? Don't believe the PC BS coming your way in this thread. Purchase it at Partsco on 40th st just north of 7th AV in Ybor city. Removing TC cover would be best and install on a workbench.

Wes.........no, the installation is not difficult. The kit, which includes the longer pump gears, a spacer to accomodate the longer gears, new fasteners, assorted pressure relief springs, gaskets and fasteners costs about $35.

The booster plate can be bought at Advance Auto for around $15 and can be installed in under an hour without removing the cover. Think they call it a new wear plate it gives you around 5 psi more oil psi. Thanks,Frank
