Oil cooler install....

I obtained a real nice engine oil cooler that I intended to use on the buick but after installing the transcooler between the frontmount intercooler and the condensor, I realized there just is not any room for the engine oil cooler. Its too thick to go next to the trans cooler so I was wondering if anyone has run engine oil thru the F body radiator instead of trans oil. If so did it cool enough, or should I look for a smaller (thinner) oilcooler and put it next to trans cooler?
