I have been chasing the last two days or so an oil leak. I originally thought it was my main seal. I went and purchased the correct anaerobic sealant and still the leak.

While the car is running I go under the car and looked up through the flywheel and I can see the oil dripping from above the crank. I checked the seal on the intake manifold and I have no oil residue there. I have checked the valve covers no oil leak there.

Are there two plugs right above the cam cap / plug and are these plugs to the oil lines? If so, I think this where my oil is coming from, I am assuming a fix is to back the transmission back a bit and tighten the plug or screw it out and re do it? Or do you guys think I can use the stop leak on this and it would work?

Any ideas? Help much appreciated I almost have this thing ready to drive. From the ground up rebuild, this one last issue.

I'd pull it back out and seal the threads. It's gonnna drive you crazy knowing that YOU know its leaking and didn't fix it when you had the time.

You are correct. There are the oil galary plus to the lifters. I know it stinks but take the tranny back out and fix it right!

I know this is what hot rodding is supposed to be about, but there are certain things you pay a premium for so that things are in order. Spent all morning pulling the transmission and the flywheel.

Found the passenger side oil plug above the cam plug loosely screwed into the block. Now I won't go into blasting but the vendor I used is supposed reputable and sells a block that is ready for assembly. Forget about the fact that the plugs on the left and right of the block near the mounts weren't in place. Easy visual inspection caught that, but I am thinking should I have checked the integrity of each plug, don't tell me. I know I should have gone through each inch of the block considering the investment and the fact that know is going to do it like me right.

I am simply frustrated after sealing and re-sealing the rear main only to still have a leak and then it was a freaking plug. Well I've put the car back together and had to just take a break. Feels like I been working on this thing non stop for over 3 days.

Wish me luck.
