What are you guys using as torque settings on the oil pan. I am embarassed to say what I think I am reading from the factory manual.

Manual says 88 in-lbs. I just changed my pan gasket (cork) and torqued the bolts to 9 ft-lbs. Haven't run the car yet since so I can't say if it leaks or not.

Any particular reason you went with cork over the rubber gasket?

Personal preference?

I had rubber before the rebuild and it worked fine and that is what came in my gasket kit?

For me, the cork is the best. The rubber one usually splits. Half moves into the pan, half moves out of the pan, and it leaks all over the crossover, making a whole lotta smoke when you stomp on it. The cork is much better.

Personal preference with the cork gasket. I've never used the rubber one so I can't say anything bad about it. Like most products, it's probably the installation process and attention to details that makes the difference in performance.
