Was out in the garage excited to put my motor in the car and decided to put the exhaust manifolds and crossover pipe assembly on. Dammit, don't fit! 14 bolt pan from 82 n/a motor. So pissed about started smashing it with the hammer! DO I need a turbo specific pan or just an 83 or newer? I got no money at all to spend on it right now beings I spent what I had on putting it together. It seems like one thing after another, first bad block, then the cam situation, then bad heads, now this! What do I need to do? Also, went and bought a 160 t stat and its too big. Do any regualar auto parts stores have these or do I need to contact one of our vendors? AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! THis car is so close to being done it's driving me nuts!

You have a 14 bolt block oil pan that's on your mid 85 and older engine that hits your 86-87 manifolds and crossover? Are you sure the pan is not from a Riviera?

NO. I have an 82 n/a motor with an 82 n/a pan going in my 87 we4! the crossover pipe hits the back of the pan. Didn't mean to confuse anyone. Like I said I'm broke, what should or can I do? Donations Welcome-HA!

Here is a thought. There is a little bit of adjustment available on the crossover pipe depending on exactly how it is positioned when you tighten it.

Maybe you can loosen both sides and adjust it back enough for proper clearance.

Well I guess I could try it. But there's no indent for the pipe at all. I'm guessing I probably need at least a quarter of an inch, maybe half. I'll take it apart, install the manifolds then the crossover and see where I end up. Pretty sure I'm gonna need a different pan unless I can pursuade the backside with MR.BFH!

I think I have an extra pan.

Let me check the garage in the morning and Ill let U know.
